So what makes glutamine a popular bodybuilding supplement? Workout Planet has the answer.

Glutamine is the only amino acid capable of crossing the blood-brain barrier, is found in circulating blood and stored in the skeletal muscles, 60% of free form amino acids floating in skeletal muscles is L-glutamine.

In other words glutamine supplements provide fuel for the muscles cells, making glutamine the MVP of all bodybuilding supplements.

But glutamine supplements are not the only way to ingest glutamine, most of the food we normally eat daily contains L-glutamine. L-glutamine can be found in beef, chicken, fish eggs, milk, dairy products, beets, beans, spinach and parsley.

    I love glutamine.
When I first started working out I tried a bunch of different supplements but have stuck with glutamine from the beginning. It is great for recovery times. Everyone knows that feeling when you back into the gym after months of inactivity; you put in a solid workout and then feel like you got ran over by a bus the next day. Glutamine won’t alleviate all of the suffering but for me it works wonders. Only if glutamin forced me into the gym each day, that’s something they need to develop a supplement for.
